So, sailors would often get this design inked on them as a symbol of good luck. But, now that I think about it there is another reason to get one of these star tattoos done. While the nautical star was once a symbol used primarily by sailors the lesbian community has recently adopted it’s usage. So, is this women stating that she has a love for the ocean or is she stating her sexual orientation. I guess we’ll never know for sure, but either way it’s a great design.
